Description
This course explores the powerful forces behind human motivation and how they affect our capacity to perform and achieve goals. Beginning with foundational theories such as Maslow’s hierarchy of needs, Self-Determination Theory, and Expectancy Theory, learners will examine how psychological, social, and biological factors influence motivation. The course distinguishes between intrinsic and extrinsic motivation, emphasizing the long-term benefits of internal drives for learning, creativity, and well-being. Learners will analyze the role of emotions, rewards, feedback, and personality traits in shaping motivation, as well as how environmental factors such as leadership, classroom climate, or workplace culture impact individual and team performance. Special modules focus on goal-setting theory, growth vs. fixed mindset, grit, and resilience. Through real-world case studies and reflection activities, participants will learn to design motivation-enhancing strategies tailored to different contexts—including sports performance, academic achievement, and employee engagement. The course also covers how to overcome procrastination, manage burnout, and sustain motivation during challenging times. By the end, you’ll be able to foster motivation in yourself and others using evidence-based approaches for long-term success.
